Editor’s Ink: personalized service to meet your needs
At Editor’s Ink, we provide personalized service to meet each client’s specific needs. We offer fast, professional editing, proofreading, translation, transcription, and ghostwriting services. Turnaround time for dissertations, theses, and most other academic manuscripts is less than two weeks. If you need it faster, choose our express service. For express services for books, original articles, essays, and longer manuscripts, please contact us.
We offer a choice of British or American English. Be sure to check with your publisher for their preference.
Express Services
For proofreading, we offer turnaround times of 24 and 48 hours for shorter documents. If you need it faster, have a lengthy document, or are interested in express services in other areas, please contact us.
Editing
Our editors not only correct errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and usage, but ensure correct and consistent use of voice and style, and check format and citations. They make suggestions for clarifying the author’s intent, making a greater impact, and improving language fluency. Our editors are skilled in spotting errors and inconsistencies and in transforming texts from mediocre to superior.
Fiction writers and other writers of non-academic works, please see our page for authors.
Proofreading
Proofreading is a final check prior to publication. The proofreader checks for errors or inconsistencies in punctuation, grammar, language usage, and format. Proofreading is for authors who are certain their work is clear, concise, and consistent and need a second pair of eyes to catch minor problems.
We now offer proofreading and editing of technical manuals for a wide range of products, from appliances to computers. Our tech editors have a foundational knowledge of electrical, networking, office, and computer systems, and will check for errors, inconsistencies, and problems in punctuation, grammar, language usage, and format, as well as in design and operation specifications.
Ghostwriting
You have a brilliant idea for a book–perhaps even reams of notes–but you want an experienced, skilled writer to tackle the writing. Or perhaps you need a paper or article written and lack the time or patience or feel your own writing skills are not up to par. Editor’s Ink offers ghostwriting as the solution. Our writers do the writing; you put your name on it and maintain all rights. It’s that easy.
Writing Coach
This service is for writers who would like one-on-one help with their writing. Some examples of what a writing coach can help you with include: outlining for high school papers, essay writing, plotting a novel, creating interesting and believable characters, world building, and much more. If you are interested in a private writing coach, contact us.
Translation
At Editor’s Ink, we offer English, Swedish, Norwegian, German, Russian, Polish, and Turkish translations, and we work in your choice of American or British English. Unlike other translation services, we NEVER use translation programs; anything less than expert human translators is guaranteed to give inaccurate—even appalling—results. We know; Editor’s Ink has been called upon to correct the shoddy work of translation firms who use these programs. At Editor’s Ink, we provide translation services by professional human translators.
Transcription
We transcribe English, Swedish, Norwegian, German, Russian, Polish, and Turkish. All transcription work is done by our experienced native speakers. For pricing and further information, please contact us.
Style Manuals
We use your choice of style manual. Be sure to check with your publisher for their preference of style manual and, if applicable, references. The following are among those we use regularly, though others are available by arrangement:
- AMA style manual (The American Medical Association Manual of Style; for physicians and university departments of medicine)
- APA style manual (The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association; for most university departments in the social sciences and some webmasters)
- CMoS (The Chicago Manual of Style; for fiction and nonfiction writers)
- AP style manual (The Associated Press Stylebook; for journalists and some webmasters)
- BPS style manual (The British Psychological Society Style Guide; when British English is specified by university departments in the social sciences or webmasters)
- Vancouver (Vancouver Reference Style; often preferred by academic journals)
All work is kept strictly confidential.
